Dr. Will Van Den Berg
Dr. Van Den Berg completed his medical training in South Africa and subsequently relocated to Canada, completing a residency in Anaesthesiology at the University of Manitoba. He then worked in Manitoba and Ontario practicing Family Medicine, Anesthesiology, surgical assisting, ER shifts, on-call, walk-in clinics, and even did prenatal care and delivered many babies.
After 15 wonderful and rewarding years it was time to reduce the workload and simplify life, so Will moved to B.C. and went back to basics, practicing Family Medicine only. He practiced in Whistler for a number of years before moving to the Okanagan and settling in Peachland. When Beachside Health opened, Will joined immediately and life was great again!
Will’s passions are travelling and exploring new places, especially in Europe where he enjoys the history and culture—and what better way to do this than on foot or bicycle?! When at home, Will enjoys cooking and baking, cycling, hiking, swimming, and cross-country skiing.
Dr. Mallory Myers
Dr. Mallory Myers graduated from the Schulich School of Medicine at Western University in 2012 where she then completed her Family Medicine Residency in 2014. Since that time she had been practicing as a family physician in Waterloo, Ontario where she thoroughly enjoyed developing strong bonds with her patients.
With a lifetime love of travel and outdoor adventure, Mallory and her husband decided to relocate to the Okanagan to take advantage of the beauty and recreational activities that are available. Along with their two children they are excited to not only explore the area, but also to develop roots and become part of this wonderful community.
Dr. Resh Panesar
Originally from the UK, Dr. Panesar relocated to the beautiful Okanagan Valley with his wife and two young sons in search of a better work–life balance and a stronger connection to nature.
He completed his Bachelor of Medical Sciences at the University of St Andrews in Scotland where he was born, followed by his Medical Degree at the University of Manchester in England. He went on to train in a wide range of hospital specialties including paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, orthopaedics, urology, general surgery, and elderly-care medicine while working in Manchester.
Dr. Panesar later moved to London to specialize in Emergency Medicine, working across several of the city’s busiest teaching hospitals. During this time, he also gained extensive experience in intensive care medicine, anaesthesia, and advanced trauma care.
After the birth of his first son, Dr. Panesar transitioned from the fast-paced emergency department to primary care, providing family medicine in a rural community in southwest England. When their second son arrived, he and his wife decided to begin a new chapter in Canada, drawn by the Okanagan’s welcoming community, natural beauty, and opportunities for an active family life. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking with his dog, snowboarding and exercising.
A former international lacrosse player for Scotland and Great Britain, Dr. Panesar has a keen interest in sports and longevity medicine. He also brings years of experience from working in urgent treatment centres and walk-in-clinics. At Beachside, Dr. Panesar is excited to continue offering comprehensive primary care services while expanding his scope of practice.
Dr. David Ewing
Originally from Alberta, Dr. David Ewing completed his undergraduate degree in sciences at Mount Royal University in Calgary before moving to Australia for Medical School. After graduating with a Doctor of Medicine from Griffith University in 2019, Dave went on to work for Queensland Health. There he gained experience in Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedic Surgery, Internal Medicine, Radiology, Paediatrics, and Psychiatry. Dave has developed interests in Mental Health, Preventative and Lifestyle Medicine, Sports Medicine, Skin Cancer Medicine and Men's Health.
Dave is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has completed additional post graduate qualifications in psychiatry and skin cancer medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dave enjoys an active lifestyle with his wife and three children. He spends much of his time outdoors – whether tending to the garden, golfing, or simply making the most of family time in the fresh air.

Damian Rawnsley
MScN, Family Nurse Practitioner
Damian has a background in cardiac care at Kelowna General Hospital. He completed graduate studies through the University of Northern BC in 2019.
Since licensure as an NP, Damian has worked as a family nurse practitioner in three Okanagan Nation clinics, as well as the Kelowna and West Kelowna Urgent Primary Care Centres. In September 2023, Damian joined Beachside Health.
As a family nurse practitioner Damian provides comprehensive healthcare that involves medical diagnosis, prescription of medications, ordering medical imaging or lab investigations, and referrals to specialists when needed. Damian is connecting with people from all walks of life and all ages as he attaches patients for ongoing care.
Damian married into a wonderful Peachland family and has been living here since 2011. He and his wife are enjoying raising their two sons in our community.
Serena Burdick
NP (Family Practice)
Known for her kindness, warmth, and compassionate approach, Serena believes that genuine connection and trust are at the heart of excellent healthcare. In 2025, Serena earned her Master of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner (Family) designation through the University of Victoria and is thrilled to expand her scope of practice to better serve her patients here at Beachside Health.
Prior to practicing as a Nurse Practitioner, Serena worked as a RN for over 26 years where she wore nearly every “nursing hat” there is: Emergency; Operating Room; Endoscopy; Cancer Care; Long-Term Care. She also served as Clinical Educator and Administrator for a multi-level care home. These experiences have given her a deep understanding of the complexities of healthcare.
Originally from northern Alberta, Serena and her family moved to the Okanagan in 2013 and quickly fell in love with everything it has to offer. Serena and her husband have spent the past decade raising their four children on their beautiful orchard in Summerland, where family life and community are at the heart of everything they do. Now, as new “empty nesters,” they are embracing this next season of life and all the adventures it brings, while keeping the fridge well-stocked for when the kids (and their friends) drop by!
Dr. Jeff Wong
Pediatrics
Dr. Chin Pang (Jeff) Wong graduated from the University of Hong Kong and was trained in both Hong Kong and Canada. After working for many years as a Pediatrician and Pediatric Respirologist at Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, Dr. Wong and his family decided to relocate to Canada.
He was accredited in General Pediatrics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. He now works in general pediatrics and continues to have a special interest in pediatric respirology. He worked as a staff respirologist in Halifax, Nova Scotia prior to moving to the Okanagan.
In addition to his clinical practice at Beachside Health, Dr. Wong leads the Pediatrics department at Kelowna General Hospital.
Dr. Wong is very passionate about family-centric care and is excited to build his pediatric practice here at Beachside where he serves young patients from all over beautiful British Columbia.
Dr. Katherine Bielas
Primary Care Dermatology
Dr. Katarzyna Bielas graduated from the Schulich School of Medicine at Western University in Ontario in 2012 before going on to specialize in Family Medicine. She is a fellow with the College of Family Physicians as well as a member of the Primary Care Dermatology Society of Canada. Dr. Bielas holds a Diploma in Dermoscopy from the University of Cardiff and a Certificate in Neuromodulator Cosmetics and Hyaluronic Acid Filler Treatments.
Working as a Primary Care Dermatologist since 2020, Dr. Bielas specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of medical skin conditions. Dr. Bielas is a versatile physician with extensive surgical experience and in addition to her Primary Care Dermatology Practice at Beachside, also works at Kelowna General Hospital as a Surgical Assistant in the Department of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Bielas’ passion for patient care is felt by all who have the pleasure to work with her, and appreciated by the many patients who travel from all over the Okanagan to seek her expert care delivered with exceptional warmth.
When she’s not working, Dr. Bielas can be found spending time with her two wonderful daughters, or on the many trails of the Okanagan with her four-legged hiking buddy!

Dr. Yves Clouâtre
MD, LMCC, CSPQ, FRCPC, ABIM, MHA
Dr. Yves Clouâtre graduated from the University of Montreal Medical School, also obtaining LMCC (Licentiate of Medical Council of Canada), the same year. Following intensive emergency room practice in a Quebec remote area as well as in a Montreal tertiary hospital, he became specialized in Internal Medicine as well as Nephrology in 1998. The same year, he passed the CSPQ, and FRCPC (Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians Canada) exam. After working for 3 years as a Chief Nephrologist in a teaching hospital affiliated with University Laval (Quebec), he moved to BC in 2001.
In 2002, he received certification as a Diplomat in Internal Medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). In 2008, he graduated with a Master of Health Administration (MHA) from UBC Vancouver. The same year, he pursued 3 months of training in Intensive Care Nephrology at Mc Gill University in Montreal.
After several years as a nephrologist, including Chief of Nephrology at Penticton Regional Hospital, in 2009 he became a part time Clinical Instructor in Medicine at his Alma Mater (University of Montreal Medicine Hospital), collaborating at the same time to Mc Gill Medicine Hospital. Shortly after, he became certified as a Diplomat in Nephrology from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).
Dr. Clouâtre collaborated as a member of the Board of the French Society of Nephrology (France) from 2004 up to 2014 and was also a member of the Board of the Canadian Society of Nephrology from 2008 until 2012. He is a member of the European Renal Association (ERA-EDTA).
He has kept an active clinical practice in Internal Medicine and Nephrology since 1999.
Madelaine Sumner, RN
Madelaine is a Registered Nurse who joined Beachside Health after spending ten years in the Cardiac Services program at Kelowna General Hospital. She supports patients with chronic disease management, cancer screening, health promotion, and navigating the health system. Madelaine enjoys working closely with patients and their families and is committed to providing warm, patient-centred care. She has a special love for Well Baby visits. Outside the clinic, Madelaine is happiest outdoors and can usually be found trail running or chasing after her toddler.
Mona Desautels, RN
Mona is a dedicated RN with 25 years of nursing experience, most recently in Critical Care at KGH where she worked for over a decade. She has a depth of clinical knowledge and brings a patient centered approach to all her work. Mona is excited to join the Primary Care team at Beachside where she can share her passion for preventive health and work to support long-term wellness in the community.
Outside of nursing Mona enjoys traveling and spending time exploring the Okanagan with family and friends, appreciating the balance between professional purpose and an active connected life.
Sarah Kendrick
Clinic Owner
Sarah has worked in Marketing and Brand Strategy for 20 years. From her start in the music business where she worked with artists Michael Bublé, Jann Arden, Bryan Adams and various others, she has always had a passion for brand strategy and integrity. After the birth of her two children, she left the music business for the rock n’ roll world of organic food, where she launched a functional kids beverage brand, gnubees (BC Foods Product of the Year in 2021, US Food and Bev Magazine Product of the Year Finalist 2022) and 52 North, a sustainable hydration beverage for athletes (BC Foods Innovation of the Year, 2019). In 2019 she relocated back to her hometown of Peachland BC, moving with her partner Jubi onto the farm next door to where she grew up. Sarah is passionate about contributing to her community and serves as a regular volunteer with Westside Youth Soccer and the Peachland Foodbank.
Jubi Steinhauer

As owner of Design Build company, Stonebridge Contemporary Originals, Jubi has spent nearly 25 years building environmentally friendly and net-zero ready homes here in the Okanagan Valley. His attention to detail and passion for excellence built the Stonebridge name into one synonymous with quality and intention. In 2016, Jubi transitioned out of building to take over as General Manager and Executive Director of his family’s organic salad dressing company, Little Creek Dressing. Since his management of Little Creek, the company has grown exponentially, and is now the top selling Organic dressing in Western Canada, made right here in the Okanagan. Jubi is passionate about environmental stewardship and along with his partner Sarah, is happily raising two kids and 30 chickens on their farm in Peachland.

MOA and Office Manager
A Peachlander since middle school, Kim completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in Kelowna before moving to Chiapas, Mexico to teach ESL. Once there she met her husband and a short post-university adventure turned into 17 wonderful years living in Mexico. In 2017 Kim, her husband and their 3 children moved back to Peachland where she has worked as an MOA and office manager for various doctors in Peachland and West Kelowna. Kim is passionate about family, art, and helping her community in whatever ways she can. We are thrilled to have Kim join Beachside as MOA and Office Manager.
Sierra Wey
MOA Team Lead
Sierra moved to Peachland from the Lower Mainland in 2024 and quickly fell in love with the community and the people who call it home. Before joining the medical field, she worked in the personal health and beauty industry, where she developed a strong passion for helping others feel supported, comfortable, and cared for.
As a Medical Office Assistant, she enjoys being a helpful point of contact for patients, and takes pride in creating a welcoming environment, supporting both patients and the healthcare team with kindness.

Originally from Scotland, Adelle moved to Canada in 2012 to embrace the Canadian lifestyle. She has worked as an MOA for many years, and also as medical lab assistant at VML. In her free time, Adelle enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking and camping. Always friendly, Adelle is very happy to help our patients with any questions or concerns!
